Panchayat Secretary Ratish Dhar arrested in Cachar district a day before his retirement. Lakhipur police arrested him based on an FIR filled by Ranjit Kumar Laskar the CEO of Cachar zila parishad.
Ratish Dhar was working as a GP Secretary at Boali Chengjur Gram Panchayat under Binnakandi Development Block of Lakhipur Constituency of Cachar District.
Panchayat Secretary Ratish Dhar has been arrested on the charge of misappropriation of Panchayat funds for various development scheme. Lakhipur police arrest him from his residene at Udharbond.
He is accused of fake geotags in the name of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and irregularities in funds for several rural development schemes. Cachar Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer Ranjit Kumar Laskar had filed a complaint against Panchayat Secretary Ratish Dhar and two other namely GRS Amritlal Gupta and Kripa Sindhu Gupta at Lakhipur police station on charge of misappropriation of government funds.
Police arrested Panchayat Secretary Ratish Dhar on Saturday late night but the other two accused are sill escaped. Ratish Dhar was supposed to retire on 30th April of this year.
Notably huge corruption taken place for implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and several other government schems under the Gram Panchayat. Based on several complain against fund anomalies under Boalijur Chengjur Gram Panchayat, a magistrate level inquiry was done and a case has been filed based on the investigation report.
