Manipur resident arrested with 35 crores Yaba tablet near Banskandi Madrasa

33 years Dongfei Kipgen a resident of Churachandpur district Manipur and 29 years Laldomsa Hmar a resident of Lakhipur have been arrested

Cachar police seized a 1.7 lakh Yaba tablet worth 35 crores from a vehicle at Banskandi Madrasa and arrested one Manipur resident and one Lakhipur resident of the Assam Manipur border.

Drug smuggling from Manipur continues in Assam via Cachar district. Based on secret information Cachar Police has intercepted a Bolero car bearing registration number AS-22/D-8657 near Banskandi Madrasa and seized 1.7 lakh Yaba tablets. The huge quantity of tablets was packed in 17 plastic sachets. The value of the seized items is supposed to be more than 35 crores in the international market. It is suspected that the consignment of narcotics items was smuggled from Manipur via Churachandpur district. Police interrogation is going on to find out the root of the racket.
