In a major drug bust, Assam Police seized 4.2 kg of suspected ganja in Cachar district early today at Digorkhal Gate. The recovery was made during a special checking operation based on an intelligence input. The seized drugs were found in a trolley bag belonging to Lal Englian, a 26-year-old from Edethar Village, Mizoram.
Englian, traveling in a TATA Sumo passenger vehicle from Shillong, Meghalaya, to Aizawl, Mizoram, is suspected to have purchased the narcotics in Shillong. The total weight of the seized substance was 4.206 kg. Police have initiated further legal actions, and investigations continue across the three northeastern states involved in the case.
