Assam Police Seize 4.2 Kg Ganja, Linked to Mizoram and Meghalaya

Northeast Drug Seizure: Assam Police Act on Intelligence Tip

Police in Assam’s Cachar district seized 4.2 kg of suspected ganja from a passenger vehicle. The drugs are believed to have been purchased in Shillong, Meghalaya.

In a major drug bust, Assam Police seized 4.2 kg of suspected ganja in Cachar district early today at Digorkhal Gate. The recovery was made during a special checking operation based on an intelligence input. The seized drugs were found in a trolley bag belonging to Lal Englian, a 26-year-old from Edethar Village, Mizoram.

Englian, traveling in a TATA Sumo passenger vehicle from Shillong, Meghalaya, to Aizawl, Mizoram, is suspected to have purchased the narcotics in Shillong. The total weight of the seized substance was 4.206 kg. Police have initiated further legal actions, and investigations continue across the three northeastern states involved in the case.
