Bangladeshi Infiltrator Pushed Back at Karimganj Border Amidst Tense Situation

In July 2023, Ali illegally entered India, was caught by the BSF, and was later handed over to the police for processing

Assam Police and BSF push back Bangladeshi infiltrator Abbas Ali at Karimganj border, who illegally entered India in July 2023, after serving a one-year prison sentence.

Amidst a tense situation, Assam Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) jointly pushed back a Bangladeshi infiltrator to his home country. The individual, identified as Abbas Ali from Moulvibazar of  Bangladesh. He was handed over to the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) at the Sutarkandi border in Karimganj.

Ali had illegally crossed into India in July 2023. The BSF apprehended him for illegal entry and subsequently handed him over to the police. After serving a one-year prison sentence for his unlawful infiltration, the authorities decided to repatriate him.

The handover was meticulously coordinated at the Sutarkandi border, where the BSF officially transferred custody of Ali to the BGB at Sheola Land Port border post in Bangladesh. The process was carried out under strict security measures to ensure smooth and secure repatriation.

This pushback highlights the ongoing efforts of Indian border forces to maintain security and curb illegal immigration, even amidst challenging and tense circumstances.
