India tightens security at Assam’s Sutarkandi border, fearing illegal entry amid recent attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. BSF maintains round-the-clock vigilance.
In preparation for India’s Independence Day, security has been significantly increased at all Bangladesh border areas, including Assam. The Border Security Force (BSF) is conducting intensive patrols at the Sutarkandi border in Karimganj district to prevent any illegal crossings from Bangladesh.
The recent violence in Bangladesh, including attacks on Hindu temples and severe incidents of rape and murder targeting Hindus, has caused immense fear among the Hindu minority. Many of these persecuted individuals may attempt to seek refuge in India. There are concerns that anti-national and anti-social elements could use this situation to infiltrate India.
To address these concerns, the Indian government has implemented strict security measures. The BSF is maintaining constant vigilance, especially at the Sutarkandi border. A high alert has been issued across the border regions to prevent any potential miscreants or refugees from entering India.
Additionally, all visa centers have been temporarily closed to prevent misuse of visa facilities. The primary goal of these measures is to ensure national security and to prevent any undesirable incidents at the Assam border.
