Following the brutal rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata on August 9, the student organization AIDSO has launched a significant protest in Digar, Srikona.
AIDSO is calling for the case to be tried in a fast-track court and for the perpetrators to receive the death penalty. Protestors carried slogans demanding “Fast-Track Trial and Death Penalty for RG Kar Culprits.”
Swagata Bhattacharya, President of AIDSO’s Cachar district, expressed outrage over the crime and emphasized the need for swift justice. She also criticized recent violence at Assam University and called for a ban on pornography, alcohol, and drugs to prevent such atrocities.
The protest highlights AIDSO’s commitment to ensuring that justice is served promptly and that the perpetrators face severe consequences.
