Cachar police seized a huge quantity of Ganja from a public vehicle at the Khulicherra area of Assam Mizoram border and arrested two persons including one Mizo lady on Friday.
Based on a piece of secret information, police intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No ML-05/R-1564 at the Khulicherra area around 3:30 pm. A total of 32 KG of Ganja was recovered during checking in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle and a lady has been arrested in this anti-drug operation.
Among the arrested persons, Ali Laskar 32 years age is a resident of Saidpur Pt-I under Silchar PS and Lalhriatpuii Sangte a resident of the Zemabawk area under Bawbgkawn PS of Aizwal District in Mizoram.
Cachar SP Numal Mahatta said that the NDPS items were seized as per procedure and further investigation has been started.
