The suspects were found in possession of a staggering sum of ₹39 lakhs in cash, highlighting the scale of their illegal operations. Along with the cash, law enforcement officials also seized crucial evidence, including one laptop, eight mobile handsets, and three ledger books, shedding light on the intricate workings of the gambling network. Cachar Police arrested Gautam Roy and Rupam Modak, the two masterminds behind an IPL gambling racket, bringing an end to their illicit activities.
It is known that Gautam Roy has been running a gambling racket in Silchar city for many years with IPL. The swift action by the police serves as a stern warning to those involved in such unlawful activities, underscoring their commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.
