MLA Dipayan Chakraborty launched 48 crores road projects in Silchar’s Tarapur under the Mukhya Mantrir Nagariya Pakipath Nirman Achani, improving key local roads.
Under the Chief Minister’s Urban Road Construction Scheme, 48 crore has been allocated for Silchar. As part of this project, MLA Dipayan Chakraborty laid the foundation stones for two road projects in Tarapur on Friday. The roads in Ukil Bazar and Narsingh Road will be developed under this scheme.
The Narsingh Road project includes the construction of 480 meters of drains on both sides and the resurfacing of 380 meters of the road at a cost of over 65 lakh. Both roads will be constructed by contractors appointed by the PWD, as the funds have been allocated under the Chief Minister’s Urban Road Construction Scheme.
In the next phase, nearly 5 crore will be spent on the renovation of Kalimohan Road, Barman Goli, Girish Road, Yogesh Road, Ramakrishna Lane, and Gunamoyee Road under the scheme.
During the foundation stone-laying ceremony, MLA Dipayan Chakraborty mentioned that the tender process for road repairs from ISBT to Sadarghat and from Capital Point to Rangirkhari has already been completed. He added that the tender for the national highway from Rangirkhari to Sonabarighat will be completed soon, with the repairs expected to be finished before the upcoming festival season.
