Minister of Water Resources Pijush Hazarika asures an additional sluice gate Barak river dyke for flood management in monsoon at Bethukandi visiting the site of construction on Monday morning. Pijush Hzarika is not satisfied with Bethukandi sluice gate, he wants a bigger sluice gate for Bethukandi.
As per his observation the constructed sluice gate at Bethukandi is very small in size and not sufficient for flood management in monsoon. And thus the constructed sluice gate need some support. So he assurese a larger sluice gate there.
Pijush Hazarika the Minister of Water Resources department in Government of Assam reached Silchar on Monday morning as per the schedule and visits the ongoing construction of embankments and sluice gates along the Barak River at Bethukandi region to evaluate the work on progress.
Pijush Hazarika himself took a tough look into the situation arising from certain technical issues that emerged in the lower section of the Irrigation Department’s sluice gate, which was built by the Water Resources Department at Bethukandi.
Visiting the spot Misnister also acknoledged the unwavering dedication of the department’s engineers and staff, who have been tirelessly working to promptly rectify this anomaly. Not only that Minister Pijush Hazarika also asures to construct an additional sluice gate in this vicinity following the conclusion of the monsoon season.
During his visit to Bethukandi SP Numal Mahatta, District President of BJP Shri Bimalendu Roy, MLA Dipayan Chakroborty and the officials of the Water Resources Department were present.
