A spa girl assaulted a youth in a Silchar ATM, leading to public outrage and protests against the rising number of illegal spas in the city. The incident happened on Friday night at the HDFC Bank ATM on Club Road, near Capital Point in Silchar. Sunil Roy, a youth from Malugram, Silchar, went to the ATM around 10:30 PM to deposit cash when the altercation occurred.
As Sunil approached the ATM, he noticed two Girl already inside, apparently completing their transactions. The security guard, noticing a queue forming outside, politely requested the girls to step outside to allow other customers to use the ATM. This simple request unexpectedly turned into a heated argument, with the girls refusing to leave and causing a scene.
When Sunil finally entered the ATM, the girls passed comment on him from the outside. And one of the girl slapped him hard across the face when he came out of the ATM. As she tried to slap him again, Sunil instinctively blocked her hand, which further enraged the women. The altercation drew the attention of bystanders, some of whom misunderstood the situation and began attacking Sunil. Thankfully, a few others intervened and managed to pull him away from the fracas.
The two girls involved in the altercation were later identified as employees of a local spa in Silchar. This revelation has ignited a wave of concern and anger among the residents. Team One Foundation, a prominent organization in Silchar, expressed grave concern over the incident, highlighting the growing number of spas that have sprung up across the city and the illicit activities reportedly taking place in many of them.
On Saturday, a large group of citizens, including several notable figures and members of the ruling BJP party, gathered inside the Silchar Sadar Police Station to protest. They demanded immediate action against the proliferation of spas and alleged sex work in the city. The protestors submitted a memorandum to the police, urging them to crack down on these establishments and ensure the safety and dignity of the city’s residents.
