The three-km-long under construction bridge for estimated amount of 1710 crore, has collapsed twice in the last one year.

Three pillars of the Bhagalpur Sultanganj Ganga Bridge have fallen into the Ganges. The bridge of three kilometers long from Aguwani to Sultanganj in Khagaria was under construction, connecting North and South Bihar. The SP Singla Company was constructing the bridge at a cost of 1710 crore.

The bridge was a dream projects of Bihar Government and the foundation stone was laid by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on February 23, 2014, at Parbatta in Khagaria district.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered an inquiry into the collapse of the under-construction bridge in Bhagalpur and asked to identify those responsible for the incident.
