Agartala ILS Hospital Accused of Faking Treatment on Deceased Patient

Date:

AGARTALA, TRIPURA: Tensions ran high at the ILS Hospital in Agartala on Sunday after the family of a deceased patient made explosive claims of gross medical negligence and financial fraud. The family alleges that hospital authorities deliberately concealed the death of 40-year-old Anamika Mallik Sarkar to continue charging for “ongoing treatment,” a practice described as a shocking medical malpractice drama.

The Allegation: ‘Alive’ Patient Used for Extortion
Anamika Mallik Sarkar, a resident of Pecharthalai in North Tripura, was admitted to the ILS Hospital on Sunday morning due to a severe heart condition. According to her family, they were charged an exorbitant ₹45,000 for just four hours of care.

The critical turning point came immediately after the payment. The family claims they were met with uncooperative and discourteous behavior from nurses who actively prevented them from seeing the patient.

“After we deposited the money, they started misbehaving and outright refused to let us see her,” a family member stated.

Death Concealed While ‘Treatment’ Continued
Overcoming the staff’s resistance, family members forced their way into the ward and discovered the disturbing truth: Anamika Mallik Sarkar was already dead.

Despite the patient’s passing, the family alleges that doctors and nurses were still running monitors and other medical equipment, creating a fraudulent appearance that treatment was underway. The family is convinced this deceptive act was purely a ploy to extort more money and hide the initial information regarding her death.

Demand for Strict Action Against Hospital
The shocking revelation immediately triggered chaos and intense agitation on the hospital premises. The deceased’s relatives have demanded strict legal action against those responsible for the alleged clinical fraud and medical negligence.

The incident has once again brought the quality and ethics of private healthcare services in the region under severe public scrutiny, raising serious questions about patient safety and transparency.

As of the latest update, the ILS Hospital management has not issued any formal statement or response regarding these grave accusations. The case is expected to proceed with a police investigation into the claims of fraudulent billing and negligence.
