Assam CM Dedicates Kampur Kapili Bridge, Relives Nostalgia

New bridge fulfills long-standing public demand in Kampur

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated Kampur Kapili Bridge, recalling his nostalgic memories of riding an elephant for a film shot at this location.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the newly built Kampur Kapili Bridge, fulfilling a long-pending demand of the people of Kampur. While dedicating the bridge to the public, the CM shared an emotional moment, recalling his nostalgic connection to the site.

The location holds a special place in his heart, as it was here many years ago that he rode an elephant for the film Kokadeuta Nati Aru Hati (Grandfather, Grandson, and Elephant). Reflecting on this memory, he said, “Today, when I had the privilege of dedicating the new bridge, I got emotional as the people of Kampur gave me a gift to relive this childhood scene.”
