BREAKING: Tragedy Strikes Dholai as Tractor Plow Entangles Driver’s Leg

Date:

Dholai, Assam: A vegetable field turned into a scene of distress in Arjanpur, Dholai, after a farming accident left a young power tiller driver, Sabir Hussain Laskar (20), severely injured. The incident occurred while Laskar was cultivating a vegetable patch.

The driver lost control of the power tiller while attempting to navigate a slope near the bank of a fish pond. In a desperate attempt to regain control, Laskar became disoriented, and his foot inadvertently got caught in the running rotary plow (tiller blades).

Eyewitnesses report that the effort to free the young man was grueling. After a rescue operation that lasted a harrowing two hours, Laskar was finally extricated from the machinery in a critical condition. He was immediately rushed to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for urgent treatment.

This unfortunate event marks the second severe farming accident in the Barak Valley region in a week. Just last week, a similar incident occurred along the banks of the Barak River at Sonabarighat in Sonai, where a driver suffered grievous injuries, resulting in both of his legs being severely mutilated. That victim is currently undergoing intensive treatment at the Guwahati Medical College.

These back-to-back incidents underscore the significant safety risks associated with operating farming machinery, particularly on challenging terrain, and prompt an urgent review of safety protocols among local farmers and workers.
