Fatal Clash Over Bamboo in Ramnathpur: Three Arrested After Man Dies from Brutal Attack

A dispute over cutting bamboo in the hills of Bagchhara area, under the Ramnathpur Police Outpost, has tragically escalated, leading to a brutal attack that claimed the life of one man.

The victim, Islam Uddin Borbhuiya, was severely assaulted and beaten during a heated altercation between two groups.

The Incident and Fatal Outcome
Following the attack, Mr. Borbhuiya was rushed to Jamira Hospital. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, he was transferred to Hailakandi Civil Hospital and finally to Silchar Medical College. Despite receiving treatment, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

Police Action and Arrests
The victim’s elder brother, Anwar Uddin Borbhuiya, immediately filed a First Information Report (FIR) regarding the incident at the police station.

The three accused named in the FIR are:

  • Saidul Alam Chowdhury (20)
  • Musaid Alam Chowdhury (23)
  • Faijul Alam Chowdhury (18)

(All three are sons of Hilal Uddin Chowdhury, residents of Pajuwa Punji village.)

Upon receiving news of the case (Case No. 43/25), the Officer-in-Charge of the Ramnathpur Police Outpost, Bishwajyoti Deuri, promptly reached the site of the incident. He successfully arrested all three accused individuals from the spot, and they have been sent to judicial custody.

Family Left Devastated and Seeking Support
Islam Uddin Borbhuiya’s death has left his wife and five young children in a state of extreme distress and helplessness. The family now faces a major financial crisis, with no means to support themselves.

The community has appealed to the public for support to help the grieving family. In a show of solidarity today, social workers from the Shahabad area, including Dilwar Hussain Borbhuiya and Abdul Muktadir, visited the deceased’s home and provided financial assistance.
