Youth Arrested in Hailakandi Over Controversial Social Media Post on Delhi Blast

Date:

A young man from Hailakandi district has been arrested for allegedly making a controversial comment on social media regarding the recent Delhi blast incident. The accused has been identified as Farid Uddin Laskar, a resident of Rangpur Part-I under Lala Police Station.

According to police sources, Laskar was taken into custody from his locality after complaints surfaced about his online remarks. He has already been produced before the Hailakandi court by Lala Police.

Crackdown Following Chief Minister’s Warning
The arrest comes in the wake of Assam Chief Minister’s stern announcement that no one would be spared for posting objectionable comments on social media about the Delhi incident. Following this directive, police forces across the state have intensified their monitoring and action against such posts.

Just days earlier, a similar arrest was made in Cachar district under the same circumstances. The latest arrest in Hailakandi highlights the growing crackdown on individuals accused of spreading controversial or provocative content online.

Social Media Under Strict Watch
Authorities have reiterated that social media platforms are being closely monitored, and any attempt to spread misinformation or inflammatory remarks related to sensitive incidents will invite strict legal action.

The case of Farid Uddin Laskar serves as another reminder of the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards online content that may disturb public peace and harmony.
