Bengaluru-Kamakhya Express derails near Manguli, Cuttack; Two passengers from Assam, including a woman, injured. Rarak Valley passengers concerned.
The Bengaluru-Kamakhya Superfast Express derailed near Manguli area, adjacent to Cuttack station in Odisha, at 11:54 AM on Sunday. Eleven coaches, from B-6 to B-14, went off-track during this tragic incident. The derailment resulted in the death of one passenger, while several others sustained serious injuries. Among the injured are two passengers from Assam, including a woman.
The derailment has raised concerns among Rarak Valley passengers, as some locals were reportedly aboard the ill-fated train. Assam Chief Minister has confirmed the two injured passengers and is in touch with Odisha authorities and railway officials regarding the incident.
Emergency response teams acted swiftly, rescuing the trapped passengers and transporting the injured to nearby hospitals. Alternative arrangements are underway to ensure stranded passengers reach their destinations. Meanwhile, routes for other trains in the region have been diverted.
