Minister Kaushik Rai Opens ₹1.03Cr School in Lakhipur

Lakhipur, Cachar | In a major push for educational infrastructure in the Barak Valley, Minister Kaushik Rai today inaugurated a new school building and science facilities at Pearson High School within the Dewan Tea Estate. The Minister, who represents the Lakhipur constituency, emphasized the government’s commitment to modernizing education in tea garden areas.

New Infrastructure and Modern Labs
The newly inaugurated school building, constructed at a cost of ₹1.03 Crores, features 14 classrooms. Minister Rai also participated in the foundation stone-laying ceremony for an Integrated Maths with Science Lab, which has been sanctioned with a budget of ₹18.97 Lakhs.

“This new infrastructure and the establishment of a modern lab will provide students with better opportunities for quality education,” Minister Rai said. He noted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the state government is working tirelessly to build a science-minded and skilled future generation.

A Milestone for Lakhipur
The Minister highlighted that the improvement of educational facilities is a key priority for his administration. The addition of 14 classrooms and a specialized science-maths lab is expected to significantly enhance the learning environment for children of tea garden workers and local residents.
