Train services on the Badarpur-Lumding route faced more trouble on 24 June. After a landslide damaged the railway track, the Northeast Frontier Railway cancelled more trains and left many passengers stuck mid-journey.
Railway officials first cancelled six trains and partly cancelled six more on 23 June. They hoped services would return to normal soon. But conditions worsened, forcing further cancellations.
On 24 June, eight more trains were fully cancelled:
15611 RNY–SCL Express
15612 SCL–RNY ExpresJatinga
15615 GHY–SCL Express
15616 SCL–GHY Express (scheduled for 25 June)

Passengers are facing tough times. Many are without food, water, or shelter. Devotees heading to Kamakhya for the Ambubachi festival are especially affected. Families with children are in deep trouble due to long delays and no clear help.
Rail workers are still clearing the tracks. Until it’s done, travel on the Badarpur-Lumding route will likely stay uncertain. The railway has asked people to check updates before planning any trip.
