BJP and AGP alliance filed nominations for all seats in Cachar district for the 2025 Assam Panchayat elections, expressing confidence in a clean sweep.
Till the last day of nomination filing, BJP candidates submitted nominations for 23 out of 25 Zila Parishad seats and 150 out of 162 Anchalik Panchayat seats. AGP candidates filed nominations for the remaining two Zila Parishad and 12 Anchalik Panchayat seats.
Minister Kaushik Rai, MLA Dipayan Chakraborty, and district BJP president Rupam Saha were present during the nomination process. Minister Rai stated that the BJP-AGP alliance would win all seats, claiming that Congress struggled to field candidates. He also alleged that some Congress candidates privately supported BJP nominees.
MLA Dipayan Chakraborty urged voters to ensure BJP’s victory in one Zila Parishad and five Anchalik Panchayat candidates under Silchar MLA constituency.
District BJP president Rupam Saha appealed to voters to support BJP candidates for the development of Cachar district.
