In a concerning display of criminal boldness, a woman was robbed of her cash in broad daylight immediately after withdrawing money from an ATM in Sribhumi town. The incident, which occurred near the Fire Brigade office, has prompted a swift investigation by the Sribhumi Sadar Police Station.
The Incident
The victim, identified as Manowara Parveen, a resident of Kaliganj, had just withdrawn ₹9,000 from the SBI ATM located opposite the Fire Brigade office in Sribhumi.

As soon as Ms. Parveen stepped out of the ATM booth, the snatchers immediately targeted her, forcefully grabbing the cash from her hand. The culprits then quickly fled the scene, running towards the direction of the town’s Ukilpatti area.
Local residents attempted to stop the fleeing snatchers, but the criminals managed to escape instantly, dissolving into the crowded streets.
Police Action
Upon receiving the news of the daylight robbery, Jadab Deka, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sribhumi Sadar Police Station, immediately arrived at the location with his team.
Police have commenced their investigation by thoroughly examining the CCTV footage from the ATM and surrounding areas. The focus of the probe is to quickly identify the snatchers and ascertain if they are part of a larger gang targeting ATM users.
The incident underscores the growing concern over the safety of bank customers who withdraw cash, calling for increased police patrols and security around ATM centres in the town.
