Marking a significant step in bolstering local governance and infrastructure, the foundation stone for the new Udharbond Block Development Office (BDO) building was officially laid today. The modern administrative facility is being constructed following a cabinet decision and an allocation of ₹2.5 crore under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The cornerstone was formally laid by the Hon’ble MLA Udharbond, Shri Mihir Kanti Shome , who was accompanied by the District Commissioner, Cachar, Shri Mridul Yadav, IAS .
🏛️ Project Details and Cabinet Sanction
Addressing the gathering, MLA Mihir Kanti Shome revealed that the decision to construct the new, state-of-the-art building was taken during the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s Cabinet meeting held in Silchar.
- Allocation: The project has been sanctioned with an estimated budget of ₹2.5 crore to ensure the construction of a robust and efficient facility.
- Goal: The new building aims to provide improved administrative services and a better working environment for the Block staff, ultimately benefiting thousands of residents under the Udharbond block.
Cachar DC Shri Mridul Yadav, IAS, emphasized the crucial nature of the project in his address, underlining the administration’s commitment to inclusive development and stressing the need for its timely completion to prevent cost overruns and ensure immediate public utility.
