A 7.7-magnitude earthquake has struck Myanmar, resulting in over 1,000 deaths and leaving 2,376 injured. Mandalay, one of the worst-hit regions, has seen widespread destruction, and rescue operations are ongoing. The earthquake also caused devastation in neighboring Thailand, with Bangkok witnessing the collapse of a 30-story building under construction, leaving several trapped or injured.

The earthquake’s effects continue as aftershocks, including one measuring 6.4 magnitude, add to the damage and hamper relief efforts. International aid is arriving swiftly to assist Myanmar and Thailand. India has dispatched rescue teams and medical supplies, while the United Nations has announced a $5 million relief fund. Malaysia has also sent a 50-member humanitarian assistance team to the affected areas.

Rescue teams in Bangkok are working tirelessly to search for survivors in the collapsed building, where 10 people have been confirmed dead and nearly 100 workers remain unaccounted for. Authorities warn that the aftershocks could trigger more collapses and urge residents to stay cautious.
