Following an intense three-day review in Silchar by Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia and State Organizational General Secretary Ravindra Raju, high-level discussions moved to the party’s state headquarters in Basistha, Guwahati. A crucial meeting of the State BJP Core Committee and Election Management Committee was convened to screen prospective candidates and lock down the party’s official lineup.

“The grassroots workers are best placed to judge an aspirant’s public acceptance, organizational commitment, and ability to win,” stated Dilip Saikia, emphasizing that candidate selection is being driven by field assessments rather than top-down appointments.
The political consolidation was further highlighted when former Cachar Trinamool Congress District President Rajesh Deb, alongside 49 key leaders, formally joined the BJP in Silchar, further bolstering the party’s local presence.
