LUMDING: A large-scale commemorative event was organized in Lumding, Assam, to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the ‘Iron Man of India’. The Hojai District Administration, in collaboration with the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare (Hojai), hosted a massive public march on Tuesday under the banner of “Ek Bharat Atmanirbhar Bharat” (One India, Self-Reliant India).
The event, which saw the participation of thousands, was centered at the Shaheed Maidan in Lumding town.
Commemorative March and Key Participants
The significant march commenced at 11:00 AM from Shaheed Maidan, proceeded through the Lumding market area, and concluded back at the Maidan. The proceedings began with a symbolic tree plantation ceremony led by the Lumding Sub-Divisional Commissioner and the presidents of both the Lanka and Lumding Municipal Boards.
The march garnered massive public support, alongside the attendance of several key district officials and police personnel, signifying strong institutional backing.
