Cachar Police Seize 3 Crore Yaba Tablets in Silchar Drug Bust

Silchar, Assam: The Cachar Police’s relentless campaign against illegal narcotics has scored another major success, with the seizure of a substantial consignment of Yaba tablets in Silchar town.
The operation was conducted by the Silchar Sadar Police Town Branch, reinforcing the district’s commitment to eradicating the drug trade.

The Successful Raid
Based on a confidential tip-off, the police launched a targeted operation in the Barenga Third Part area of Silchar.

During the raid, police apprehended one individual identified as Najmul H. Mazumdar, a resident of the same area. Following a thorough search, the police team recovered a large quantity of illegal drugs from his possession.

Massive Drug Haul
The recovered contraband consists of 10,000 Yaba tablets.

Cachar Additional Superintendent of Police, Subrata Sen, stated that the black-market value of the seized tablets is estimated to be approximately ₹3 Crore. The operation represents a significant blow to the drug supply network operating within the district.

The individual, Najmul H. Mazumdar, remains in police custody, and further investigation is underway to trace the origins and network connected to this large drug shipment.
