Silchar, Assam: Setting a vibrant and motivational tone for the day, District Commissioner Mridul Yadav, IAS, delivered a stirring and detailed address at the inauguration of the Mini Recruitment Drive organised at Government ITI, Srikona, on Friday.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, DC Yadav urged the young students to seize every opportunity with determination, discipline, and a clear sense of direction. He strongly underlined that today’s competitive employment ecosystem rewards those who continuously sharpen their skills, stay adaptable, and actively cultivate strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Calling such recruitment drives “crucial gateways that can transform the lives of aspiring young professionals,” he highlighted the Government of Assam’s sustained thrust on expanding skill development and employment avenues for the youth. He encouraged the candidates to engage confidently with participating employers, make informed decisions about their career pathways, and adopt a mindset of lifelong learning to remain relevant in a rapidly evolving world.

Earlier in the program, Assistant Director of the District Employment Exchange, Silchar, Himangshu Kr. Das, delivered an insightful and motivating address that further strengthened the spirit of the initiative. Speaking directly to the young aspirants, he stressed the urgent need to understand the dynamic nature of the job market and prepare accordingly.
Shri Das emphasised that while initial qualifications may open the door, sustained success depends on discipline, consistent effort, technical competence, and the unwavering willingness to learn. He highlighted the growing importance of industry-oriented training and practical exposure, urging students to adapt to modern workplace demands. He also underscored the value of punctuality, professionalism, and a positive outlook, reminding the youth that every interview is an opportunity to learn, grow, and refine oneself.
He elaborated on the various employment schemes, training programs, and support mechanisms offered by the Government of Assam under the Employment & Craftsmen Training framework, assuring participants that the District Employment Exchange remains committed to guiding them from registration to counselling and placement.

Organised by the District Employment Exchange, Silchar, under the Directorate of Employment & Craftsmen Training, the Mini Recruitment Drive unfolded with notable enthusiasm and robust participation. Designed specifically to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers, the event successfully provided a meaningful platform for direct interaction, career clarity, and real-time opportunities.
A total of seven employers, including both local and international companies, took part in the drive, offering diverse job prospects across multiple sectors. Around 350 candidates attended the event, marking a promising turnout and reflecting the growing interest of youth in structured, skill-based employment initiatives across the Barak Valley.
