Restoration Work Underway

The landslide has severely damaged the track formation under Lines 1 and 2 at New Harangajao station. Railway engineers, emergency response teams, and heavy earthmoving equipment have been deployed to restore the affected embankment. Meanwhile, train movement is being cautiously managed through Line 3 under strict safety protocols.

Northeast Frontier Railway officials have not announced a definite timeline for the complete restoration of services, stating that continued rainfall remains a major challenge.

Passengers travelling through the Lumding–Badarpur section are advised to check the latest train status through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or by calling the Railway Helpline 139 before proceeding to railway stations.
