In the run-up to India’s 80th Independence Day and to mark the historic 150th anniversary of the national song “Vande Mataram”, the District Administration of Cachar organized a grand commemorative ceremony today at Gandhi Bagh, Silchar.
The event witnessed widespread participation across administrative, security, academic, and social sectors, turning the iconic Gandhi Bagh premises into a hub of patriotic fervor.
A Unified Rendition of National Pride
The highlight of the ceremony was a mass, collective rendition of “Vande Mataram”, where hundreds of attendees joined their voices to sing the immortal verses composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.
